This is the Great Seal of the Cherokee Nation.
The seven
pointed star is at the center of the seal and represents the seven
clans of the Cherokee. The wreath of oak leaves symbolizes the sacred

traditionally burned.
The seven clans are; Anigatogewi or Wild
Potato Clan, Anigilo(la)hi or Long Hair Clan - (This Clan, also known
as the Twister Clan, Hanging Down Clan, Offended Clan, or Wind Clan),
Anikawi or Deer Clan , Anitsiskwa or Anijiqua or Bird Clan, Anisahoni
or Blue Holly Clan, Aniwodi or Red Paint Clan, and the Aniwaya or Wolf
